Approaches to enhancing habilitation in children
Christa’s study is investigating language, speech and literacy outcomes for triads of children with hearing impairment who utilise cochlear implants and are enrolled in one of three types of early intervention programs:
- Bilingual/aural with sign support
Subjects will be matched for age of implantation, age of intervention, maternal education, family socio-economic status and non-verbal intellectual ability. Measures of length of intervention, parental involvement and communicative reciprocity will also be taken.
