Dr Monique Waite

Role: Key Researcher

Dr Monique Waite is a speech pathologist who currently holds a HEARing CRC Postdoctoral Fellowship. She is also affiliated with the Communication Disability Centre at The University of Queensland.

Monique’s research focuses primarily on improving patient access and outcomes through innovations in service delivery and health professional education. Her current research program involves exploring the use of eHealth for individuals with hearing loss and their families.

Specifically, Monique’s research interests are associated with:

  1. Improving outcomes for children with hearing loss and other communication disorders and their families through the use of eHealth;
  2. The implementation of family-centered care in speech pathology and audiology practice;
  3. Development & evaluation of family-centred models of hearing rehabilitation incorporating eHealth; and
  4. Health professional education, including simulated learning and interprofessional learning.
