Background

New designs of cochlear implant electrode are being developed with the aim of achieving optimal electrode placement within the cochlear. Optimal placement of the implant electrode will enable discrete neural stimulation and preservation of residual hearing, without causing damage to the cochlear.

Detail

In collaboration with Cochlear, this project is working on the development and trialling of new electrodes, initially via temporal bone safety studies and then in human clinical trials.
