Project area:
C1.3: Novel Clinical Assessment Tools
Project-ID:
C1.3.3
Project Status:
Ongoing

Background

The HEARLab Hardware System has been developed by the National Acoustics Laboratory in Sydney and transferred to commercial partner, Frye Electronics, for manufacture.

A number of software modules have already been developed for use on the HEARLab system.

Detail

This project is focused on the develpment of a HEARLab software module that automates auditory brainstem response (ABR) assessments.

Novel strategies to increase the speed and efficiency of threshold measurements using auditory brainstem responses were evaulated and a clinical study conducted to determine the most appropriate and beneficial perameters for an automated ABR audiometer. The software is currently in the design and development phase, performance will be verified with a clinical study. This software will be licensed to Frye Electronics for distribution to existing and new users of ABR Audiometry.
