Biography
Zhilian Yue graduated with a PhD in polymer chemistry in 2002 from Heriot-Wattt University, UK. Since then, she has been working on polymer aided drug delivery and tissue engineering in UK and Singapore. Zhilian has been working intensively at the interface of biology and material. Her research involves the design of bioresponsive polymers for intracellular drug delivery and 3D cell culture and tissue regeneration.
Zhilian moved to Wollongong and joined Intelligent Polymer Research Institute in 2009 to pursue the research on cochlear implant drug delivery. She works closely with Carrie Newbold, Silvana Mergen and Cochlear Ltd, and welcomes potential collaborations to strengthen the research on future cochlear electrode development using drug delivery and tissue engineering approaches.
