Biography
Sharon Cameron graduated from Macquarie University with an Honours degree in 2002, she was awarded the university medal in Speech and Hearing Sciences. In 2005 she completed a PhD in Linguistics also through Macquarie University. Sharon's thesis on “Development and Evaluation of a Test of Virtual Spatial Hearing” received a Vice Chancellor’s Commendation as well as the Australasian Speech Science and Technology Association PhD of the Year Award.
In 2006, Sharon was awarded a National Health and Medical Research Council Public Health (Australia) Research Fellowship to investigate the diagnosis and remediation of auditory processing disorders (APD) in children. She has worked as a Research Scientist at the National Acoustic Laboratories since 2005, has authored a number of scientific papers and is the co-inventor of the Listening in Spatialized Noise - Sentences test (LiSN-S).
