Dr Michael Tykocinski is a German-trained Otolaryngologist with a medical doctorate from the Free University in Berlin, and has been involved in Cochlear Implant Research since 1993.

Initially Michael obtained a grant from the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft in Germany to work in Australia, later he worked as Senior Research Fellow for the CRC HEAR and is now project leader in the new HEARing CRC. He is also a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and involved in clinical cochlear implant work within the Melbourne Cochlear Implant Clinic.
