Biography
Jörg Buchholz is a senior research scientist at the Macquarie University and is currently seconded to the National Acoustic Laboratories. He studied Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at the Ruhr-University Bochum, Germany, where he also completed his PhD.
In previous years, Jörg had held faculty appointments at the Technical University of Denmark and the University of Western Sydney; and he was a guest researcher at the University of Patras in Greece. His major research interest is in better understanding the auditory processing of normal, impaired, and aided impaired listeners in challenging real-life environments and the application to (bilateral) hearing aid technologies. His research methods include psychoacoustics, speech intelligibility measures, virtual auditory environments, and real-time hearing-aid signal processing.
