Biography

Isabelle Boisvert obtained her degree in clinical Audiology from the Université de Montréal, Canada, in 2004. She has a broad clinical experience including intensive rehabilitation after cochlear implantation, rehabilitation services for hard-of-hearing and deaf and blind individuals, diagnostic audiology in private practice, as well as services for children having auditory processing disorders and adults experiencing tinnitus. Isabelle is also an external member of HEAD Graduate School in Sweden (research group focusing on Hearing and Deafness).

HEARing CRC Project:  R4.6.1: Evidence-based understanding of device selection and management decisions

Title:  The Outcomes of Cochlear Implantation in a Sound Deprived Ear.

Project details: This study aims to evaluate the benefits of cochlear implantation in an ear that has been deprived of auditory input. It is a retrospective and a prospective study in collaboration with cochlear implant centres in three countries: Australia, Canada and Sweden. Outcomes will be measured with objective and functional tests, controlling for the subject’s cognitive abilities to process spoken language.
