Biography
Dimity Dornan is a Speech Pathologist who is currently the Managing Director and Founder of The Hear and Say Centre in Brisbane. This is a not-for-profit centre which helps deaf children to listen and speak just like children with normal hearing. Today the Hear and Say Centre works with 230 children and families in six centres throughout Queensland.
Dimity is also the founder of Hear and Say WorldWide which teaches professionals globally. She has been awarded a Churchill Fellowship (1992), a Member of the Order of Australia (1998) and is a Fellow of Speech Pathology Australia (1999). She has also received the Australian Medical Association (AMA) Award of Distinction for Services to Medicine (1999), and Australian Social Entrepreneur of the Year (2005) for her work.
