CRC HEAR developed the 'Soundshield', a sound protection algorithm and associated technology that can be used to protect against acoustic shock.

Commercialisation: This research was licensed to Polaris Communication and Soundshield, the world's first acoustic shock protection device for users of telephone headsets, is now available internationally. Soundshield is used for all Telstra and many Centrelink call centre operators in Australia, it is also used for some emergency service operators internationally.
